We're hiring! Personal Assistant

Based at NIWA's Wellington office, you will be working alongside a wide range of researchers and the Challenge Director.

The role of Personal Assistant has the key function of providing management support for the Challenge Director and administrative support for the Challenge Leadership Team. This role is fast paced and multi-faceted, with a need to think fast and respond to tight deadlines and be comfortable working in a busy environment. An ability to work in a close collaborative manner with the management team is essential. You will provide administrative support including contracting, minute taking, meeting and event management, editing and preparation of documents, maintenance of Sharepoint site and organisation of travel.

You will have at least 3 to 5 years' worth of relevant experience, and have a positive, constructive and collaborative approach to your work. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and take on whatever is required to get the job done alongside others will stand you in good stead. A high energy level combined with excellent planning, organising and execution is required.

  • Full-time, fixed term to June 2024

Sustainable Seas is one of 11 National Science Challenges that are funded by MBIE. These align and focus Aotearoa New Zealand's research on large and complex issues, bringing together scientists and experts from different organisations and across disciplines to achieve a common goal.
