Changes in our leadership and support team

With the beginning of a new year, there are a few changes to our leadership and support team. We have sadly said haere rā to our challenge manager, Marie Davis, who has stepped down from her role. Marie made a significant contribution to the mahi of the challenge, and we wish her all the best for the future.

We have also welcomed two new Communications Advisors to the team, Laura Dooney and Sophie Sparrow.

Laura is based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, and comes from a journalism background, most recently working at RNZ National as a producer across different programmes. She’s excited to discover and share the stories about our people and their mahi.

Sophie is based in Ōtepoti/Dunedin and has joined us from Otago Museum, where she worked in the role of Science Engagement Coordinator and was involved with several different outreach projects. She is looking forward to bringing her passion for the conservation of Aotearoa’s unique environment to her communications work.
