Reclaiming and preserving traditional knowledge of maramataka to inform transformative practice in marine monitoring and management.

This poster weaves together the journey of Ngā Tohu o te Ao project, focusing on reclaiming maramataka knowledge and practices to inform marine indicator development. It highlights three core components of the Wao Atua framework: Wao Atua, Wao Tupuna, and Wao Tangata. Each section includes descriptions and interactive links to the work conducted. Wao Atua highlights the importance of grounding the project in place. Wao Tupuna explores the processes and tools used for reclaiming maramataka knowledge. Wao Tangata provides a detailed explanation of the activities undertaken to reconnect with maramataka practices.
