BactiMap: forecasting contamination risk to shellfish

This is a prototype model for forecasting E. coli contamination risk to shellfish in Tasman and Golden Bays.

This real-time forecasting tool provides a daily forecast of river plumes entering the sea and contaminant measurements that accurately estimate E. coli bacterial contamination risk in Tasman and Golden Bay waters.

Aquaculture farmers can use this tool to assist in managing shellfish harvest and could minimise the number of days unnecessarily closed to harvest.
