What is a ‘blue economy’, and how can NZ get one?

A public talk at the NZ Maritime Museum by Nick Lewis, June 2019

We are in a century of extraordinary climatic and social uncertainty. Some predict there will be severe and increasing ecological, social and economic crises. Many are coming to the conclusion that we need to learn to ‘do’ economy differently – changing the way we think about, live with and use our marine resources will be critical.

Nick's 25 min talk explored how some enterprising New Zealanders are using the seas in new and exciting ways, how our industries are responding, and how Māori are leading the way in creating a new ‘blue’ economy.

There is an associated Q&A video.
