The Māori marine economy

A public talk at the NZ Maritime Museum by Jason Mika, June 2019

We are in a century of extraordinary climatic and social uncertainty. Some predict there will be severe and increasing ecological, social and economic crises. Many are coming to the conclusion that we need to learn to ‘do’ economy differently – changing the way we think about, live with and use our marine resources will be critical.

Jason's talk (25 min) explored how Māori are leading the way in creating a new ‘blue’ economy. There is an associated Q&A video.
