Te Au o Te Moana | Special webinar series: Improved decision-making for the moana

This webinar was presented by project leaders from the theme Enhancing EBM practices. March 2022 (45m + 15m Q&A)

Ecosystem-based management (EBM) is a dynamic approach emphasising processes alongside outcomes, and which is constantly evolving rather than being a static endpoint.

In this webinar, we acknowledged the existing ways in which the moana is centred in decision-making and extended this to consider possible structural changes to embed EBM principles into our marine management.

We emphasised co-governance, collaborative decision-making and the importance of scale (spatial and temporal) as key elements to ensure and enhance the implementation of EBM.
